Welcome to the Desert Snow Training Program’s Public Website
Desert Snow has been providing National and Community safety through professional law enforcement & homeland security training since 1989. The program is best known for their hands on training workshops where passenger and/or commercial vehicles are brought into your area for training purposes. These vehicles are then set up just as officers, agents, inspectors, or other officials would encounter them during their everyday assignments. Desert Snow has a cadre of over 75 dedicated and experienced instructors who are assigned to the different vehicle rotations and teach attendees how to recognize elements of criminal activity and then how to thoroughly and professionally search these vehicles, if and when needed.
Since the September 11, 2001 incident, Desert Snow refocused its training programs to include terrorist identification and simulated explosives concealed within the search vehicles. The training is privately funded and has been sponsored by hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country. Desert Snow works closely with federal, state and local agencies. Ask around and you will find that Desert Snow is the premier and most sought after criminal and terrorist identification and apprehension training program!
From Joe David, the founder of the Desert Snow Training Program:
“Today’s law enforcement officers are no longer First Responders. They are the eyes and ears of the nation, providing public safety 24/7, 365 days each year. They encounter complex situations that require immediate decisions, which may have catastrophic results. It is critical that we utilize these valuable assets.
It is also imperative that we provide them with the necessary training to identify and prevent these threats. As with all conflicts, ground troops are a necessity and cannot be replaced with technology.
We must never forget that major criminals are most vulnerable while they are in transit.”
